The Judgment

By: Beverly Lewis
The Judgment is about two sisters, Rose or Rosie and Hannah or Hen. The two sisters have a rough life in Amish county; Rose engaged to one yet loves another. Hen, trying to deal with her outsider husband and his divorce threats and the possibility of losing her daughter while living with her Amish parents while trying to sort everything out. Will these two Amish sisters ever find peace in their worlds or will everything going on win the battle?
Find out what happens in The Judgment the second book in the rose trilogy. I love how you can’t guess what is going on in till you get to it and what happens is usually a surprise, not at all like you thought it would.  Beverly Lewis is a great author and I have always loved her books and have enjoyed reading her books over the years. All her books have always had a great message.  I can’t wait to read the next book in the series; I am dying to find out what happens with the sisters. I know it will be good, just as good as all of her other books, maybe even the best one yet! I would recommend this book and series to any Amish fiction reader.
I was not made to write a positive review, I have only expressed my opinion and mine alone.

The Thorn

By: Beverly Lewis
The thorn is about two old Amish sisters; one married to an outsider the other unsure of the feelings of her heart.  Hen, married to an outsider but longs for the old ways of which she was raised, but torn between her husband and daughter and the ways of her family she has to make hard decisions that will change her and her family’s future forever.  Rose, unsure of her feelings for two different men, being courted by one yet devoted to another, the bishop’s rebellious foster son, Nick.  Many things happen to the two sisters that change them and those around them, for the better and the worse.

The thorn, the first book in the rose trilogy, is a powerful book that after you have start you never want to put down until the very end. When you reach the end you want to read the next book to find out what happens. Beverly did a great job on this book, like all of her books it was a great read and it held a powerful message behind the story.  I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more books by Beverly Lewis in the years to come.  I would recommend this series to an fan of Amish fiction.
I was not made to write a good review, this is my opinion alone. I got this book for review thru backer publishing group.

When Sparrows Fall

By: Meg Moseley

When sparrows fall is the story of Miranda and her children. Miranda a window with six sheltered home schooled children who’s church leader is very controlling. She does not want to be under his authority anymore but he holds secrets to her past that she has been hiding for years. After an accident on the cliffs on her property Jack, the half uncle and half brother in law to Miranda comes to live and help take care of the children while Miranda recovers from her injuries. But will him being there be a problem more than a help.
I did not enjoy this book as much as I thought I would at the beginning, but I slowly warmed up to it. I had a hard time figuring out this book at the beginning but about half way through I had started to put the pieces together and truly understand the book and what was going on. I could not truly understand what was all going on until the very end of this book. That is the only negative thing I have about the book. I did enjoy this book after I started to piece everything together and understanding it. I got this book for review thru Multnomah  and was not made to write a positive review.

Freedom’s Stand

  By: J.M. Windle
Freedom’s Stand is about the problems women face in Afghanistan, how they can be sold by their wali -a male that is in charge of them- to pay their debts, into marriage. Sometimes they get into a good marriage with love but more often than not they are beaten and abused by the husband and they are powerless to stop it. This work of fiction does not shy away from the hard issue that the women that live there and how the foreigners are treated and looked upon.  They all so talk some about ho corrupt their government is, they will kill an innocent man to cover their tracks, as the book talks about. All the characters in the story face different situations and different problems than the others so it gives you a wide range of problems and how they handled them.
This book is very informational about all the different subjects she talks about in the whole book. I really enjoyed reading this book, even though it was really long for a novel but worth ever page.  I received this book through Tyndale’s book review program and even though this is only the second thing I have received from them I am impressed in what they publish. But all in all I enjoyed this read.
I was not made to write a positive review, only to voice my opinion. This book was written by J.M.Windle published by Tyndale press.

Romancing Hollywood Nobody

By: Lisa Samson

I truly love this series and constantly reading them long into the night because I can’t put them down until they are finished. Unfortunately I did‘t get this book through a book review program, I ended up getting this book from my library and reading it from there. Anyhow, romancing Hollywood nobody is the third book in the HOLLYWOOD series. Scotty and Charley find love on a new set where Charley works as the food stylist. How will the ones who had their hearts react to their turned heads? Who will Charley chose? Jeremy, the constantly travelling director? Or the romantic, Scottish actor? Will Seth get his act together before he ruins his inter life? Or will he join the party life of Hollywood? Find out when you read Romancing Hollywood nobody!

If you are a young teenage girl you will love this series. It shows people doing right and wrong things and shows you the consequences of your actions weather they are good or bad ones. It is a great book for any teenage girl to have on her summer reading list along with the other three books in the series. All in all an amazing read.

The chasm

By: Randy Alcorn
The Chasm is a short little book about the journey from earth to heaven the one making the journey is Nick Seagraves. He runs into all sorts of things in his journey like lust, anger, hope, resentment and many more. Even though this book is only one hundred ten pages long it still seems like a long book, for there is so much going on in each chapter it is hard to put down.  It ends quickly, faster than I thought it would. This book teaches us some hard lessons about not going off the path God has set for us and lets us know that there was be consequences for our sin. Evil lurks in people that we may even see as a friend, like Nick found out quickly you don’t always know who to trust, people that seem like you friends may turn  their heads when the bad times come.

This book is an amazing book to read. If you don’t know where you are going this book will help you decide where you would like to go. It shows you the wonders of Christ and the trickery of the devil and his gang down in hell. I would recommend to a lot of people I know saved or not.   All in all a great read.
I was not made to write a good review.  This book was written by Randy Alcorn, published by Multnomah.

The Final Summit

By: Andy Andrews.
The final summit is about the search for the one principle that will save humanity. Which is already a large task but to add to it they only have five tries to get it right plus a time limit, if they don’t get the answer in that amount of time humanity’s times is over. You would think it would not be that hard to find the answer because it is only two words long but every time you read one of the answers you are sure they are right but are let down a few times until they get the right answer. This book is crazy hard to put down because of all the suspense that leaves you hanging until the very end of the very last page.
I extremely in-joyed this book, I don’t have words to explain how this book affected me except I want to do what the answer was. This is what will save humanity from an early death; this book needs to be read by everyone in the entire world. Because it will save us, this book will save humanity. I am telling you now to read this book. We need to do what this book is telling us to do.
This book is an amazing book. I love it and will read it again and again, over and over. I hope that by reading this book you will get the same affect that it gave me.
I was not made to write a good review, only to voice my opinion. The book was written by Andy Andrews, publish by Thomas Nelson.

Lisa did an amazing job with these books I can’t wait to read the intire series by Lisa. These books are written in a informative way with out giving to much away, like some authors do. This is a great series for your summer reading list or to take on a long car trip trust me it will go fast! Even though this is a teen series it is a great read for anyone with one small thing, I don’t think that children will understand some of what is going on in this series. But all in all a great read.

Find out when you read Voyage with the Vikings.

This book is a mix of things that makes it hard to talk about. This book is a mix of history fiction and mystery. I really enjoyed this book, even though it is a very short book and a kid book I thought it had quiet a lot of information for such a small book. The book has a couple of illustrations’ that are very well done even though they are black and white they are very well detailed. You will imagine your self there in the story in the adventure and facing what they faced. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend to any homeschooler.

Sequin Bible – Pink

The pink sequin bible is an International Children’s Bible version, which is especially written for girls around the pre-teen age. I love this version even as a teenager it is easy to read and to follow along, you will not get lost in the story as you are reading it. It is a great version for adults to that have trouble ether with reading or comprehension of what they are reading. I like that it includes maps and a dictionary/concordance for finding of different things quickly and easily. It is very well made and would last a lifetime of hard use that it will receive from my younger sister.

This Bible this very girly, pink, and sparkly. I was at a basketball tournament when it came in the mail a received a phone call saying my pink Bible was amazing. I love the Bibles cover it is amazingly pink and girly. It was everything I expected and then some. I think this is the perfect girl bible and would recommend it in a heart beat to anyone who is a girly girl or knows some one that is one. but all in all I love this bible!

The Little Lame Prince

                                                    By: Miss Mulock

The little lame prince is the story of one little boy, a prince who because someone dropped him as a young baby, became lame. That same day his mother passed away. His father buried himself in his work and rarely ever paid attention to his son. Then after several years he noticed his son from where he was playing on the floor and called to him, when his son around the age of two did not get up and walk, he more or less crawled/ walked across the floor on his knees. His father was furious with all the people that did not tell him his son was lame. After calling on all the best doctors they all said the same thing, he will never walk like a normal boy would.  His father was very sad and angry and a few months later he passed away and joined his wife.

The little lame prince was now first in line for the throne but his uncle despised him and decided that he was to be on the throne. So he came up with a plan, he had someone make him a wax figure identical to the little prince. Then he told everyone the little prince died in his sleep and had a funeral for him and everything and buried the wax figure next to the former king and queen. During the funeral the little lame prince was carried of to a tower across the mountains to live out the rest of his days in the tower with his nurse.

But his fairy godmother told him he was a prince and helped him escape to tell everyone that he was still alive, for after a couple of years everyone forgot about him. He found out his uncle had died and his nurse and fairy godmother helped him become the rightful king.

I really enjoyed this book, it was sad but it ends on a good and happy note so it is not as sad at the end. All in all a good read. This book is set in the middle ages.

Two Tickets To The Christmas Ball

Two tickets to the Christmas ball is the story of two lonely hearts and a magical Christmas ball. Fellow co-workers for five years Cora Crowder and Simon Derrick barely remember each other, when the run into each other at Warner, Werner, and Wizborrerdad’s book store strange things happen. They both receive a ticket to a one of a kind Christmas ball, but not knowing much about the mysterious ball Cora decided not to go and give her ticket to Sandy. Sandy is Simon’s younger sister who is affected by her down syndrome and loves all things pink and girly. But when Cora gets another ticket, is it just her destiny to go to the magical Christmas ball?

A nice book with an easy to follow dialog and is easy to keep up with, so you don’t have to go back and read what you already read before. Being only a little over two hundred pages it is not very long, it only took me two days to read. The only thing I did not like is that I personally thought I did not end right, don’t get me wrong I liked the book and all but I think it was just ended wrong. But all and all a great book I would recomened to anyone.

Read And Share: Stories About Jesus

The read and share: stories about Jesus is a very sturdy bible story book made for younger children. I like that it is a board book because they don’t wear out as fast. The stories are very well written even though some of the stories are more pointed to a five to six year olds. The stories are closer to scripture than other bible story books.

The pictures are well done and they are very appropriate for young children. The colors are very bright and kid friendly. Any child would love to have this book on their shelf.

Great book for children to be read to anytime of the day, anyday. At the end of every story, which is approximately one to two pages long, there are questions like: Are you saved? Which younger children might find confusing. That has to be the only negative thing in the whole book besides I think they need to go in to more detail about what happened. Even younger children like some detail, like you can’t tell a child to do some thing with out them asking why. I think that it is an amazing book all in all and I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Dragons of the Valley

                                    By: Donita K. Paul

This book is an allegory, fantasy, fiction novel about a land where dragons live with peace with the people and are used in war like we used war elephants. Before the out break of war, three statues will be taken and hidden in the valley of the dragons their whole world depends on those three statues safety. The statues created by Verrin Schope, have more power then most people know it has the power to destroy the very land. Will the artist put his paintbrush down and wield a sword just as good as he uses his brush?
I was afraid he was going to do bodily harm to his self but his sword has a mind of its own.

Dragons of the valley is a little confusing, their names, like the one for the artist his name is Graddapotmoriphit Bealomondore is insanely long and complicated name. I mean how do you pronounce that? Thank goodness I did not have to read it out loud to anyone. Over all an ok book not the best book I have read. But still pretty good book, does not end like I thought it would but the whole plot was different from what I expected. But still a good read.

The Truth Of The Matter

By: Andrew Klavan   The Homelanders #3
Charlie West is still on the run, determine to find the truth. Wanting his old life back, he goes on a hunt for the mysterious agent Waterman. Waterman is one of the few people that really knows the truth. When he and Waterman finally met, secrets will be uncovered about him and the murder of his former best friend Alex.     Charlie, wanting to find out everything from the missing year of his life, hopes Waterman can help him restore his memory. After some things happened Charlie is on his own again, or so he thought.

A heart pumping book, with unpredictable twists and turns with suspense that’s killing. Not recommend for children under the age of twelve, I personally think it would be too scary for them to read. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a hoarer book or anything, but to intense for them. Even though it is a work of fiction what happens in the book could happen tomorrow with the way the world is and everything. Let’s just hope it never happen like this.

The Last Silk Dress

                           By: Ann Rinadli

The last silk dress is based on a letter written during the civil war by General James Longstreet of the confederate states of America. The letter was about about a hot air balloon made of silk dresses donated by the local women. It was used to spy on the Yankees during the brutal war. The balloon would fly higher than the enemy’s could shot their riffles.

This book is about a young woman trying to find were she belonged in the war, and on what side she should take. During her journey she meets her banished older brother who help her unlock secrets from deep within their past. To the end of her journey she finds true peace within her soul. After moving in with her brother she finds out what she was fighting for was corrupt.

Great book could have more history in there but. I might read again but not likely because the book does not have a lot of history in there. Good book to read about the civil war. More of girl’s book, but still a great read.
